After exiting my advertising career, I completed a Master&#8217;s degree in Women&#8217;s and Gender Studies at Eastern Michigan University in 2009, followed by a PhD in American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University in 2015 [at the age of 66!] I was awarded a 2015-2016 Center for Popular Culture Studies Research Fellowship at BGSU and was recently accepted into the National Coalition of Independent Scholars [NCIS]. Both of these appointments have provided me with the opportunity to continue my research on the subject of women and cars.
