ABOUT ME

Chris Lezotte and her 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT 350 [tribute]

I am a Detroit native, and spent much of my past life in the ad business as a VP Creative Group Supervisor, creating award-winning commercials for clients such as Buick and GMC Truck. After exiting my advertising career, I completed a Master’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies at Eastern Michigan University in 2009, followed by a PhD in American Culture Studies at Bowling Green State University in 2015 [at the age of 66!] I was awarded a 2015-2016 Center for Popular Culture Studies Research Fellowship at BGSU and was recently accepted into the National Coalition of Independent Scholars [NCIS]. Both of these appointments have provided me with the opportunity to continue my research on the subject of women and cars. I currently live in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, and can often be spotted driving my [slightly hot-rodded] 1949 Ford Coupe, my [tribute] 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350, or my [extremely fun-to-drive] 2023 VW GTI.
